Method & application
With the Talentview web service, companies create candidate, employee and requirement profiles on their own. A matching function then compares the requirement profile of a vacancy with the applicants’ profiles (job matching).
How a profile is created
It starts with an online questionnaire: from the answers, Talentview determines the candidates’ individual abilities and preferences. In SmartProfiling©, for example, 60 closed questions with a four-point answer scale measure work preferences and competencies.
You receive the result as a PDF, in two levels of detail:
- SmartPlusProfile©
- Four pages (A4) with a graphical presentation of the results and a concise description of the three most important preferences and competencies. Intended for HR decision-makers and the basis for matching.
- ReflectionProfile©
- A detailed analysis of 15 to 16 pages, presented graphically and in writing – for the candidates or the participants of a programme.
The results of Talentview Profilanalyse® are scientifically grounded and based on many years of experience and validation (see scientific basis).
Matching against the requirement profile
To find your “ideal candidate”, Talentview has developed a dedicated profiling: you answer an online questionnaire and receive a requirement profile of the person you are looking for, tailored to your expectations. The matching function compares it with the candidate or employee profiles and shows the people with the best results.
Team mapping
The “show team structure” function gives you an overview of a team at a click. Team mapping shows how interaction and agility work within the team and whether all necessary team functions are covered by the individual team members – the basis for developing high-performance teams.
Using the web service
Companies and organisations access the service with a company login via the Talentview portal. Once we have activated your account, you use the web service to send the questionnaire to participants, create talent, team and requirement profiles, apply the matching function and manage participants and teams. On request, several people in your company can access it at the same time.
You can agree on monthly, half-yearly or annual use, or on a quota of profiles. During the agreed term the web service is freely available to you. An introduction and advice on technical and content-related handling and on the results are part of our offer.
Scientific basis
Talentview Profilanalyse® is based on
- models of analytical psychology: at its core is C. G. Jung’s personality typology in its extensions, such as the well-known polarity model of K. Briggs and I. Myers. The personality dimensions have been adapted to today’s world of work and the needs of a practical instrument – for example by adding entrepreneurially relevant topics such as attitude to risk or sensitivity to negative influences (the neuroticism dimension of the Big Five).
- models of organisational psychology and systems theory: the idea of the structure and dynamics of living systems and organisations comes from the research of J. G. Miller.
- management concepts on strategic preferences, the team-based learning organisation and empowerment, together with the related empirical studies, in particular by M. Belbin and C. Margerison/D. McCann. The work of M. Csikszentmihályi on flow is also taken into account.
The method was developed in cooperation with scientific institutions and is regularly reviewed scientifically. This ensures the quality of the measuring instrument and of the profile results. The current versions of SmartProfile©, SmartPlusProfile© and ReflectionProfile© are based on joint research by Prof. Dr. Heiko Hansjosten (Heilbronn University) and Talentview.
